How to Protect Your WoW x5 Account

Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ru

An account with a level 60 character, raid gear and gold is valuable and hunted. Most 'hacks' on private servers are not clever exploits but a guessed or stolen password. The good news: basic hygiene closes almost every risk.

A strong password is the foundation

  • 12+ characters, mixed case, digits and symbols.
  • Unique to WoW x5 — not the same as your email, forum or another server.
  • Do not use a character name, birthday or 'qwerty123'.
  • Do not keep the password in plain text next to the game shortcut.

Email is the second line

Link the account to a separate email you use nowhere else. If a thief reaches your main inbox, the game account stays safe. Put two-factor auth on the email itself — it is free.

Phishing: don't hand over the password yourself

The most common theft is phishing. Remember the rules:

Scam signWhat to do
'Enter your password on a mirror site for a bonus'Ignore; enter the password only on our site
A whisper 'from an admin' asking for the passwordStaff never ask for your password
'Free gold/epic for logging in via a link'It is a trap; do not open the link
A shady launcher/cheat with 'auto-login'Do not run it — often a keylogger

A clean computer

Keyloggers and 'cheats' steal the password as you type. Download the client only from our site (client page), avoid dubious 'boosters', and keep antivirus on. On false antivirus alarms, see Antivirus Blocks the Game.

If the account is still stolen

Immediately change the password (if you still have access) and contact support — how to do it is in Account Recovery. The sooner you reach out, the better the chance to get the character back.

FAQ

What makes a strong password for a WoW x5 account?

At least 12 characters with mixed case, digits and symbols, and it must be unique — not the same as your email or other services. Avoid character names and simple combinations.

Do WoW x5 staff ever ask for your account password?

No, never. Any message asking you to share your password is a theft attempt (phishing). The password is entered only on our official site at login and registration.

How do I protect my account from theft without 2FA?

Use a unique long password, a separate email with 2FA, download the client only from our site, avoid third-party cheats and launchers, and keep antivirus on — this closes almost every theft scheme.
