Shaman in WoW Classic

The Shaman is a Horde hybrid class that works through elemental totems. On the Vanilla WoW Classic X5 realm (1.12.1, x5 rates) the Shaman combines melee and ranged damage with healing, and its totems boost the whole group.

Talents and roles

In Vanilla the Shaman has three talent trees.

  • Elemental — ranged lightning magic damage.
  • Enhancement — melee and totems, fast leveling.
  • Restoration — group and raid healing.

Group role

The Shaman drops totems that boost the group's damage, speed and survivability, heals, cleanses poison and curses, and uses Reincarnation to return to the fight. In Horde raids it is a key source of group buffs.

Leveling on x5

x5 rates cut the path to level 60 by 4–5x. Level in the Enhancement tree for melee speed, healing up between fights. The zone route is in the 1–60 leveling guide.

FAQ

Can the Alliance play a Shaman on x5?

No: in Vanilla the Shaman is a Horde-only class, and the Alliance counterpart is the Paladin. Keep this in mind when choosing your faction.

Which tree should a Shaman level in on x5?

The fastest is Enhancement: melee with totems and Windfury. The Elemental tree gives ranged lightning damage, and Restoration provides group healing.
