Leveling 1–60
The Shaman levels fast and safely as Enhancement: melee + Lightning + Healing Wave give damage and self-healing. Find Fire Elemental Totem and Ghost Wolf speed the journey.
Raids and PvE
In raids the Shaman is priceless for totems: Windfury for melee, Grace of Air for casters, plus elemental and healing totems. Resto Shamans spread Chain Heal; Elemental Shamans burst with Lightning.
PvP and battlegrounds
Explosive Lightning burst, Grounding, Windfury and self-healing make the Shaman a dangerous duelist and a Horde group anchor.
Professions
Blacksmithing + Mining for mail, or Enchanting/Alchemy for buffs.
