A historian named Chromie in the Eastern Plaguelands asks you to restore the chronicle of Darrowshire, a village erased by the Scourge. Along the way you learn the tragedy of the Battle of Darrowshire and the fate of its defender Joseph Redpath. On WoW Classic X5 the chain is easy to finish alongside Scholomance farming.
Who gives the quest
The chain starts with Chromie in the Eastern Plaguelands. She appears as a modest history collector, but attentive players recognise a bronze dragonflight dragon. She sends you to recover the lost chapters.
Step 1: Gather the chapters
The chapters and related items are scattered: some drop from named bosses in Scholomance, some are found in the Plaguelands world. Collect them during your normal dungeon runs so the chain needs no extra trips.
Step 2: Restore the history
As you hand Chromie the fragments, you rebuild the chronicle step by step: how Darrowshire fell, how its people fought, and what became of Joseph Redpath, whose story is one of the saddest in the Plaguelands.
Step 3: Choose a reward
The chain's finale offers a choice of several items. Take the one that boosts your role and fits your slot — the rewards are useful for a level-60 character.
Combine the Annals with the Barov Family Fortune and Skeleton Key quests: all revolve around Scholomance and Caer Darrow, so they finish on shared runs.
