Feral Druid — build, talents, cat and bear
The feral druid is the hybrid spec of animal forms: cat for melee damage and bear for tanking. The Feral Combat tree boosts both forms, letting one character cover DPS and tank. In vanilla feral is not top in any role, but it is versatile, durable and irreplaceable in small groups and while leveling.
The feral swaps roles by shifting form: bear soaks hits and threat, cat cuts damage from stealth. An advanced technique is powershifting: shifting form resets and refills energy for a tighter cat rotation.

What this build is for
Feral is a versatile hybrid:
- Tank — bear form holds threat with Maul, Swipe and Demoralizing Roar; a great off-tank for dungeons.
- DPS — cat form strikes with Shred, Claw and finishes with Ferocious Bite.
- Leveling and solo — high survivability; you can both tank and heal in form.
The downside is a lower damage and tanking ceiling than pure warriors and rogues, but flexibility makes up for it.

Heart of the Wild boosts both cat damage and bear health — the heart of the whole feral build.
Rotation and play
Cat (DPS): open with Pounce/Ravage from stealth, build points with Shred and Claw, finish with Ferocious Bite or Rip (bleed). Advanced — powershift for energy.
Bear (tank): hold threat with Maul, Swipe and Demoralizing Roar, watch your rage. Priorities are in the druid rotation, buttons in druid macros.
Stats and gear
Cat: strength → crit → agility → hit. Bear: stamina → armor → dodge → strength.
