Frost Magic
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ruFrost magic is the school of cold, slowing and control. Where fire seeks to burn, frost seeks to hold: to bind a foe, strip away its speed and cut it down in cold blood. It is the most tactical of the elemental schools.
The element of cold
Frost is the element of winter, death and numbing stillness. In the lore, cold is bound tightly to the Scourge: its lands are locked in permafrost and its power carries a chill. The greatest symbol of frost magic is the runeblade Frostmourne, which radiates bitter cold and steals souls. Cold does not kill at once: first it slows, binds the limbs and smothers the will to resist, and only then does it end a life. That is why frost is called the element of the calculating and the patient — of those who finish a foe for certain.
Wielders of frost magic
The master of the school is the mage. Frostbolt strikes and slows, Blizzard blankets an area, and Frost Nova and Ice Block grant control and protection. Frost magic is also wielded by lords of the undead: Kel'Thuzad, archlich of the Scourge, is a fearsome master of cold and necromancy.
Frost in Vanilla raids
The key encounter with the frozen threat waits in Naxxramas, the citadel of Kel'Thuzad. The undead dragon Sapphiron breathes bitter cold, and against him the whole raid assembles frost-resistant gear. It is one of the most resistance-demanding fights in all of Vanilla.
Frost resistance
Frost resistance reduces cold damage. Its thresholds and workings are explained in the article on resistance mechanics, and the item choices in the guide to frost-resistant armor. It is Sapphiron who makes frost resistance mandatory for progress in Naxxramas.
