Hit (+Hit) — WoW Classic hit chance
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ruHit (+Hit) is a secondary stat of WoW Classic that lowers your chance to miss. A miss means zero damage, so hit is often worth more than crit or attack power until you reach the cap. Like other derived stats, it comes from gear on top of your primary attributes on the WowX5 x5 server.
Hit is a capped stat. Once you reach the hit cap, extra +hit is wasted — after that invest in crit and attack power.
The melee hit cap
Against a higher-level target your base miss chance rises. Against a level sixty three boss (plus three levels over a level sixty character) special abilities and yellow attacks stop missing at nine percent hit. For white swings while dual wielding the penalty is far higher, so the nine percent yellow cap is the main target for the warrior and rogue.
- Special abilities: nine percent cap.
- Single weapon, white hits: also about nine percent.
- Dual wield, white hits: a much higher cap due to the penalty.
Spell hit
Casters have their own system. Spells against a level sixty three boss need sixteen percent hit to remove misses. Talents cover part of the cap — for example on the warlock and shaman — so you need less pure hit from gear.
Why hit is a priority
While misses remain, part of your damage is simply lost, and for warriors and rogues a miss also grants no rage or energy. So early in gearing hit is usually taken first, then crit and attack power. Plan your pre-raid set, check the rotations and combat mechanics. Create a character on WowX5 x5 and strike without missing.
