Combat Rogue — build, talents and DPS rotation
The combat rogue is the most stable raid DPS spec for rogues in WoW Classic. Adrenaline Rush, Blade Flurry and sword specialization give steady high damage without needing to get behind the boss. Dagger and subtlety variants exist for burst single-target, but for reliability and simplicity combat is the raid standard.
Keep Slice and Dice active as long as possible — this attack-speed buff yields more damage than frequent Eviscerates. Refresh it with the first combo points, finish with Eviscerate at 5 points.

What this build is for
Combat is the workhorse of raid DPS:
- Raids — steady high damage, no need to stand behind the boss.
- Adrenaline Rush + Blade Flurry — strong burst and multi-target damage.
- Dungeons — fast clears and stable threat.
The alternative is a dagger/subtlety build with Backstab: higher peak damage but harder positioning and worse PvE stability.

Precision covers hit, and sword specialization gives a chance for an extra attack — the foundation of combat damage.
Rotation and play
Open from stealth with Cheap Shot for the stun, then Sinister Strike to 4-5 points and Slice and Dice. Keep the buff up, finish with Eviscerate.
On burst phases use Adrenaline Rush for energy and Blade Flurry on multiple targets. The full priority is in the rogue rotation, buttons in rogue macros.
Stats and gear
Priority: hit (to the cap) → attack power/strength → crit → agility. Misses and boss parries hurt DPS the most — hit comes first.
