Discipline Priest is a spec about utility, mana efficiency and PvP. Pure Discipline heals less than Holy, so raids run it as a disc/holy hybrid for Meditation (mana while casting) and the tree's crown jewel — Power Infusion. In PvP, Discipline with shields and cheap heals is nearly unkillable.

Power Infusion is your contribution to raid damage: put it on the best mage or warlock in a burst window (+spell damage and cast speed for 15s). One Discipline priest visibly raises the raid's total DPS.

Discipline covers utility and PvP:

  • Raid utility — Power Infusion on top DPS, Meditation for mana, instant shields.
  • PvP and duels — Power Word: Shield, dispels, mana efficiency — the priest survives burst and wins on resources.
  • Dungeons — preventive shields cut incoming group damage.

For pure PvP, points go deeper into Discipline (Mental Strength, Improved Shield); for raids, a Holy dip for healing power.

Rotation and play

Pre-shield with Power Word: Shield before damage lands, keep Renew up, patch with Flash Heal. In a raid burst window pop Power Infusion on the top caster. Templates are in priest macros and priest rotation.

Stats and gear

Priority: mana pool/mp5 → healing power → spirit → intellect; in PvP health pool gains value. Gear sets in pre-raid BiS priest, formulas in character stats.
