Level range and how to get there

The recommended range is level 45–55. The Horde holds the Valormok outpost in the north-west — no trainers, but a flight path and quest chains. The Alliance has no town here and picks up quests from neighbouring Ashenvale and via flight. You enter Azshara from the south out of Ashenvale along the eastern road.

Quest hubs and chains

Key spots: Valormok — a Horde camp with naga and satyr quests; the Bay of Storms — a Spitelash nest with the island holding Duke Hydraxis; the Temple of Arkkoran — a sinkhole of blue whelps and the elite Arkkoran; and the ruins of Eldarath — Legashi satyrs. Grab quests in a batch and sweep the coastline in a loop.

Elites

The elite Arkkoran lurks at his temple, and elite naga roam the Bay of Storms — dangerous solo, so bring a group. On the bay island stands Duke Hydraxis, who starts Hydraxian Waterlords reputation, needed for fire resistance and the Ragnaros access quests in Molten Core.

Nearby dungeons

There is no dungeon inside Azshara — it's an open-world farming zone. The nearest instances are in Ashenvale (Blackfathom Deeps, BFD, 20–30, for lower levels) and Blackrock Mountain toward the end of leveling. Azshara's real 'reward' hook is starting Hydraxian Waterlords reputation at Duke Hydraxis as prep for Molten Core.

Tips for the x5 server

  • On x5 the 45–55 range is short — stick to Valormok quests and farm naga around the bay.
  • Start Hydraxian Waterlords reputation at Duke Hydraxis — it grants fire resistance for Molten Core.
  • Arkkoran's blue whelps give solid XP and cloth — bring water resistance against the naga.
  • Azshara is rich in stranglethorn herbs and ore veins — level herbalism and mining along the way.
  • Beware elite naga and Arkkoran — don't pull patrols solo.

Where to go next

By 55 move to the Eastern Plaguelands or Silithus for the final push to 60, or begin pre-raid reputation farming. Top up Hydraxian Waterlords later for the fire-resistance rings.
