Malfurion Stormrage: the first druid of Azeroth

◆Student of Cenarius

Young Malfurion was the first mortal to ask the demigod Cenarius to teach him druidism — the art of drawing power from nature itself. Where his twin brother reached for forbidden magic, Malfurion chose balance and the guardianship of life.

◆War of the Ancients

When the Burning Legion first invaded Azeroth through the Well of Eternity, Malfurion led the resistance. Together with Tyrande Whisperwind and the Dragon Aspects he shattered the Legion's portal, triggering the Great Sundering.

◆The Sundering and the World Tree

After the cataclysm Malfurion helped plant the first World Tree, Nordrassil, atop Mount Hyjal. In exchange for immortality and peace the night elves swore to guard it, beginning millennia of kaldorei seclusion.

◆Founder of druidism

Malfurion founded the Cenarion Circle and trained the first druids, binding his people to the Emerald Dream — the green mirror of Azeroth. Many druids, Malfurion among them, spent centuries in slumber guarding the spirit world.

◆Malfurion in the Vanilla era

During WoW Classic Malfurion still lingers deep in the Emerald Dream, battling the Nightmare. That is why in Vanilla Darnassus is ruled by his beloved Tyrande, and the Cenarion Circle acts without its founder.

◆Why this matters

Understanding Malfurion's path shows where the night elves' reverence for nature comes from, and why the druid class is so tied to their culture on the server.
