Dragonspawn are upright serpent-bodied beings created by the dragonflights' magic as soldiers and guards. Below the waist they bear a long serpentine tail, above a powerful humanoid torso, and in hand a spear and shield. They do not hatch from eggs like true dragons: the flights craft dragonspawn to hold the line where a grown wyrm cannot easily fight. They are the backbone of dragon armies and the most recognizable humanoid branch of the dragon kind.
Dragonspawn often stand in a tight line before a boss. It pays to crowd-control and pull them one at a time, or you face several shield-bearers and a blast of elemental breath at once.
How a dragonspawn is built
A dragonspawn's look betrays its dual nature. From the dragon: scales, tail and elemental breath; from the humanoid: arms, weapons and the discipline to hold a line. Scale color, as with all draconic creatures, marks the flight that made it.
