The Demon Soul

The clan warlock Nekros Skullcrusher seized the Demon Soul — a golden disc once forged by the Aspects and Neltharion the Deathwing. With it the Dragonmaw subjugated Alexstrasza the Life-Binder and forced the red dragons to fight for the Horde.

Dragons in Horde service

The enslaved dragons became living weapons of the Second War: they burned Alliance fleets and cities, and their eggs were raised in the fortress of Grim Batol. The red flight's might nearly turned the war in the Horde's favor.

Freedom and collapse

After the Horde's defeat, Alliance heroes and the half-elf mage Rhonin helped destroy the Demon Soul; Alexstrasza and her flight broke free and punished their enslavers. The Dragonmaw clan was shattered and its remnants scattered.
